-
Staying warm

-
-
Here are some tips to help you stay comfortable during potentially chilly
- nights and inclement weather during your trip.

-
-
CLOTHING

-
-
Insulate yourself. Man-made materials works well even if wet. Wear high-tech
- materials for underwear, wool/fiber pile shirts/pants sweaters.

-
-
Protect your head, face, and neck. Besides a wool hat or scarf, balaclavas
- provide full coverage during cold spells.

-
-
Prevent soggy clothes. While hiking, wicking layers next to your skin
- reduce perspiration, giving you a chance to stay warm.

-
-
Shield yourself from the wind. Wear windbreaker pants or jackets to
- keep your body's warmth from being 'swept' away. These items can act as
- a layer to remove for breathability, if necessary.
